The value and benefit of the expression of universal truths, whether written or spoken, to a recipient depends upon that individual’s willingness to learn and willingness to change. The implementation and application of truth into the fabric of everyday living is what provides the power to release that which is embedded in it.

Your energetic consciousness and awareness level also is important. In fact, when you are habitually bound by negative powers and energy your willingness to learn, grow and develop are often significantly reduced.

What is interesting is that this applies into every area of your life including the spiritual. In fact the church in general tends to be silent when it comes to the scale of application of these vital truths. Oh, It may talk about “sin” and the need for change and transformation through Jesus, but it is often silent on the practical aspects of how this is to be lived out in daily life. God’s Word however has much to say about this.

Living a “holy” life in consistent alignment with God’s Word is not about keeping a set of rules and regulations. It is about living in healthy relationship with the One who makes such a life possible. I like what Milton S. Agnew wrote in a sermon almost 50 years ago. He was writing about Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (KJV).

Colonel Agnew wrote, “This puts holiness into every part of life, into every ambition, into every standard. It puts holiness into the workshop, the home, the school, into friendship, industry, vocation. It assures that true holiness is truly practical, that it relates to everyday.”

He goes on, “It is not merely the negative cleansing of the heart wrought at a moment of faith, but it is also the aggressive and progressive living, growing, maturing; the applying of the principles of Christian ethics to every part of life.”

We find the value and benefits of universal truths when we live them out in the practical processes of daily living.
