God Creates a Way When You Can’t See a Way!

There are times when you simply need to press forward, even when you are not sure you can. This past week was an extremely busy week and in some ways I probably pushed harder than I should have. It was Sunday morning and I woke up very tired. We had a series of technical issues with my computer and with the internet before the first service began. While I was prepared, I was not sure about my ability to do what I felt God was asking me to do. I was leaning upon His promise that His strength is made perfect in my weakness.

At one point in the morning service I was so tired, I could not even read my notes. I knew I had the structure of my slide presentation and simply trusted the Holy Spirit to dip into my unconscious competence and keep going. There were things in the message that were not part of my original notes and other things left out, but I thought it seemed to flow okay as I came to the end of the service. For that I was grateful.

After the service, I received more words of gratitude and thanks than on most other Sundays. I went and had a nap before leading a service at the local nursing home. There is no set up for using my slide presentation there, so I have to depend upon my notes to guide me and I have less time to present the same material that was shared in the morning.

The nap was not long enough and it became apparent quickly I would not be able to see my notes well enough to use them for the most part. Again I was forced to depend upon the Holy Spirit to use my unconscious competence to get the message across. God was again faithful and the number of expressions of appreciation was much higher than normal.

The challenge today was that while this was Palm Sunday, I was presenting a fresh and different look at this event using the title of a book that is yet to be written. I needed to be able to communicate the connection between the foundational information of the Biblical event and the fresh insights I was looking to share. God was faithful, as He always has been. Today brought a renewed illustration for me of Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in Yahweh with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; {6} think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths.”

He will do the same for you if you will trust Him, even when you cannot see a way to get through your situation. God creates a way when you can’t see a way!
