Just a quick update and word of thanksgiving and praise to God regarding yesterday’s blog article. It was my intention today to stay home and get some editing done on a book I have been working on. Instead, this was another day of opportunity for flexibility. There was enough snow overnight to warrant the use of the snow blower to clean the driveway. When I got out to the drive shed I discovered I only had enough gasoline to clear the driveway today. That meant I would need to fill the gas can in preparation for the fact snow is predicted every day for the next week.

When we were shopping the other day my wife picked up a couple of items that were on sale in a community 25 minutes away. She decided two more of these items would be a really good idea since they were on sale for half price. In checking online for a lap top hard drive the electronics stores all said they had no stock regarding what my daughter was look for. Since I had to go to get gas and then go to pick up the items my wife wanted, I might as well call the electronics stores to see if they might have the hard drive we were looking for.

After attempting to call the three potential options multiple times with no one answering I was about to give up. Well, maybe I should try one more time. Matt at Staples picked up this time and checked his computer returning to reply, “It says I have one, but I will need to go and physically find it.” After what seemed like a long time, but probably wasn’t, he returned with our treasure in hand. Matt agreed to set it aside until I was able to drive there and purchased it. What seemed like an impossible situation wasn’t impossible after all. We are back to working on Plan A over the next week. It may not seem like much to you, but it was a big deal to us.

My stay at home plan changed to include seven different stops before I finally returned home. I was tired, but grateful and excited that I came home with every item on my list. I was reminded of the words of Jesus in Mark 10:27, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” We don’t know what we don’t know, but God does, and this is something to be reminded of from time to time.
