In the process of writing articles for two local newspapers I began to wonder about the openness of the readership to what is contained within the pages printed. I know I am very sceptical of what I read, especially in light of events that have been reported locally in recent days and the volume of material that potentially may be “fake news.” When you add to the mix the fact my articles are written for the section titled, “Christian Perspectives,” I wonder how many people actually bother to read what is written and allow it to impact their lives?

One of the challenges I have chosen to address, with even greater intensity and enthusiasm, in recent years, is the relevancy of God’s Word to our current day. By this I do not mean I endeavour to attempt to match “end times” predictions to current events. My official public opinion on this issue, has been for many decades, something you will not find in the theological books. A friend shared this with me a long time ago. I am a pan-millennialist. I believe, if you are in right relationship with God, no matter what the exact “end-times” process is, it will all pan out.

For me, the relevancy of Scripture is found in the application of universal principles of life and living that continue to have beneficial value across time, when followed. These principles relate to all people, of all nations, across all the elements of what is perceived as linear time, because they are in essence connected to non-linear time and found in the quantum field of the present moment, or the “eternal now.”

How you “perceive,” “discern,” “see,” “know,” etc., the world around you impacts everything. This is the message hidden in Scripture in the Old Testament Hebrew word, “raw-aw” and the New Testament Greek word, “hor-ah-o.” It is from this concept, The SEE Method of Living finds its Source.

God, the Relationship Initiator and Restorer, provides the mechanism to Shift our mindset to bring transformational freedom and expression, Elevates our energetic awareness for the full deployment of our inherent potential, and Enhances the quality of our life as we live our purpose, fulfil our destiny and leave a lasting, positive legacy.

The quality of life Jesus came to establish now (John 10:10), contains the same essence as the life which He brings in terms of the eternal, because He is the Source of that life. That is one of the reasons if you do not want to say Yes to the relationship with Him now, you will not connect to Him in the eternal. This present moment is your window of choice which has eternal implications. Choose wisely.

Have you ever had one of those “senior moments” or perhaps one of those “senior days?” Such was my case. Yesterday was a busy day with a number of specific tasks and events to be completed. A book I have been reading was not where I thought it should be and in fact is still missing. The blog article I was to write did not get posted on time. The two newspaper articles I needed to complete which were clear in my mind became less clear in the reality of daylight. This is just the tip of the iceberg in my day.

So, what can you do when something like this happens? Pick something, one thing and work through it. Move on to the next and work through that one and continue until you are back on track. Don’t fuss or become negative, just move forward. Trust things will work out, because in reality most things are not as important long term as you think they are in the moment.

Yes there are connections and consequences in our life, but remember you do have choices and can make mid-point corrections. So, if necessary, just do it! That is what I am doing in this moment. Now, moving on to the next item.

Yesterday morning the sound of multiple sirens which stopped in close proximity to our house sent me scrambling out the door as quickly as possible. While I could not hear any sound by the time I got to the door, I did see flashing lights moving in the wood processing plant across the road and slightly east of our house. This plant had been the location of a major fire about a year ago. Five different fire departments had been on the scene for that event. Yesterday’s fire was not as major with just two fire departments brought in.

No one was in the building at the time of the fire so the topic of conversation mainly among the onlookers centred around the cause of the fire. There were interesting thoughts advanced about the topic and related history of the plant. Things happen in life. Decisions open the door to events which have consequences in life. I was also surprised that the topic I wrote about in my June 22, 2018 blog article came up for discussion.

Never under-estimate the impact of your thoughts, beliefs, words, intentions, attitudes and actions. Be sure what you sow in your life will result in what you really want for your life. If not, make the necessary course changes quickly. While fire can make room for something new, it often leaves behind damage and loss that cannot be undone. Be careful what you ignite in your life.

Our local small community is being drawn into a challenge that has been launched as a result of the accusation of racism in a landlord/tenant dispute. I spent an interesting and insightful hour with a local reporter discussing the situation. I did not instigate the conversation but was pleasantly surprised to see the responsiveness of the reporter to correct misinformation that had been previously reported. I also was able to gain an appreciation for the difficulty of finding a balance in the reporting of situations such as we are experiencing.

The use of languaging patterns and manipulative conveyance of how something is expressed can subtly change the meaning of entire thoughts and events. This can happen even when the people involved recognize it is happening and feel powerless to do anything about it.

Matthew records in his Gospel 7:15-20 the words of Jesus who said, “Watch out for false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are voracious wolves. {16} You will recognize them by their fruit. Grapes are not gathered from thorns or figs from thistles, are they? {17} In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. {18} A good tree is not able to bear bad fruit, nor a bad tree to bear good fruit. {19} Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. {20} So then, you will recognize them by their fruit.”

You cannot necessarily determine what a plant is right away. It may take some time before the fruit arrives to identify exactly what you have. This happens in life sometimes as well. Be assured the fruit will reveal itself. People do reap what they show. Their fruit will reveal what is at the core of their being. Jesus also said, “Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is known by its fruit” (Matthew 12:33).

In our local community, the truth will come out, but what will be the long term damage to lives before it does? May the truth become clear quickly.

You may have heard the saying, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, again.” This is what is happening in the field next door to the house we live in. For the last three summers whatever crop had been planted on the land immediately to our west and north has not been able to be harvested because the land has been too wet in the fall to get the equipment on the land.

Yesterday the tractor was on the land again preparing the soil for planting. It remains to be seen what crop they will attempt to plant this year. The current dry spell has silenced, at least for a short time, our two basement sump pumps. Maybe this is the reason for the hope the land around us may produce a crop this year.

There is a need for energetic awareness to determine which choice to make. Do you continue to do what you’ve always done, such that you continue to get what you’ve always got, or do you continue to persist until success is achieved?

In the present moment, how do you feel about the process you are engaged in? By the time the two fields are ready for planting the farmer will have put approximately fifteen hours of time with expenses in preparation of the soil. Faith obviously is saying, “Try again.”

Time will tell what ultimately happens to this land, once slated for residential development. All development on this land is on hold for the next twelve years as decisions regarding future sites for town water well development are determined. My guess is there will be more decisions to be made in the coming years. To plant or not to plant?

Everyone will face times and situations where they must make choices where the outcome is uncertain. Remember, if you allow your life to be governed by fear, you will ultimately reap the consequences of fear, even if you attempt to label your actions as simply being cautious.
