Live Your Potential

Welcome to a new beginning, a fresh start, the launch of a new year! Tap into the exciting energy of the inauguration of what has the potential to propel your life forward to levels you never dreamed possible.

The photo attached to this article is a reminder of the power God has placed within you, providing the ability to overcome even the most challenging of circumstances. This plant has sprouted and is growing in the midst of a barren lava flow. Will it be successful in overcoming all the obstacles it will face? There is no guarantee that a fully grown, mature version will be achieved. But one thing is for sure. If it had never sprouted, if it had never tried, it would never have the chance to reach its full potential in this world.

Your willingness to set aside the limitations of your past and your current environment and focus on what can be, is a key component to what your future will ultimately look like. I recently read a post by one of my Face Book friends. Michelle is an incredible, talented, young woman and mother with three children who stands less than 5 feet tall. She weighed over 200 pounds and was not making enough money to support her children and herself working 80+ hours a week.

She wrote in her post, “And what I do know… that was NOT working. I landed myself in the ER. Nearly ended up on anxiety meds. I was exhausted (did I already mention that?) and miserable. I had no idea what to change – but something had to give. It was me. Not give in to ‘the keep hustling harder sense’ … (tried that). Not give in to ‘the collapse onto the floor sense’ … (tried that too). And not give in to the ‘keep putting everyone else above me sense either’ … (this just leads to burn out – how can you give when you’re empty?!).

I had to give up my stubborn persistence in holding onto the stories that no longer served me. I had to give up my thick skulled insistence on figuring it all out myself and doing it all on my own. Oh, and I had to give up the mindsets and work through the fears that I had allowed to keep me stuck, and playing small.”

Michelle set out to learn from those who had been where she was and are now where she wanted to be. She lost 80 pounds, changed her mindset to place her on the road to health. She made a decision to diligently work at the process go get to where she wanted to be. Then she focussed specifically on those things which would bring what she wanted into reality. Michelle is a living example and inspiration of what she now teaches others to do.

What will you do with the opportunities to grow and develop into the best version of you possible in 2019?
