December 1, 2018

Yesterday turned out to be a very busy day. It was my first full day of activity after my tests and biopsy. I will not go into all the details of the day, but by the time supper was over, I was more than a little weary. I may have possibly overdid things a little. As I climbed into bed, I realized I had forgotten to write the blog article for today. I chose to get up early because today’s schedule is also full. I started my computer and went to do something else while it loaded and discovered my wife was already preparing one of the Christmas trees to make the journey upstairs from the Christmas tree room. Deciding to grab breakfast before going back to the office, when I arrived my computer screen was black. Something had happened and the computer crashed on load.

This meant starting the process and waiting for it to try again. I probably need to do a maintenance routine which hasn’t happened in a few weeks. There are some things which are beneficial when you follow a set procedure to accomplish your goal.

This became clear this morning as I got up feeling tired and worked through the process of changing from my night time catheter bag to my day time bag. There are a number of steps to be accomplished in achieving the completion of this process which usually takes thirty to forty minutes. In the midst of the process, still operating in somewhat of a fog, I heard myself asking “what is my next logical step?” In fact this question came up a couple of times. I started to chuckle to myself as I thought, “maybe if I had asked this question yesterday I wouldn’t have forgotten to write the blog article.”

Developing certain logical procedures can be helpful to your efficiency and productivity. This is true in whatever you are doing, including setting up spiritual disciples for your continued growth. Something for your consideration as we begin the last month of this year.
