You have arrived at the end of a specific point in your life’s journey. Congratulations! Whatever has happened over the last year, you have made it through to the end. Give yourself a pat on the back and acknowledge with gratitude you reached a finish line again.
How do you feel about yourself, about your year, about your journey? Are there lessons you have learned, which if you implement in the new year, will make it even better than the last?
Will you carry from your past, into tomorrow and beyond, fears, frustrations anxiety, limitations, or heartbreak shattering your expectations for a new and better future, right out of the starting gate?
Will you allow transformation to come and wipe out those past challenges, opening up to you new vistas bringing love, hope, joy, peace and opportunities for abundant blessings?
Remember God has given you a gift to change your mindset and move you to a different and better place, even in the midst of the storm. The winds of opposition may be still blowing. The rain or even hail might be beating down on you. In the darkness of that hour there is a symbol of hope that appears in the splendour of the majestic colours of a rainbow promising, things will get better. The sky is blue, the sun is shining, and things will change. God is still in control and He loves and cares for you.
Songwriters E.Y. Harburg and Harold Arlen wrote these words to a song made famous by Judy Garland:
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There’s a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true
Someday I’ll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That’s where you’ll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow
Blue birds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then oh why can’t I?
If happy little blue birds fly beyond the rainbow
Why oh why can’t I?
Do not let your past dictate you future. Forge a new path that releases your true greatness in the coming year.
