Have you ever had a thought about your upcoming schedule and when you actually checked your priority manager, or day timer you discovered the event you were anticipating was actually an extra week away? Well this happened to my yesterday. I am attempting to gradually increase my daily activities without over pushing myself physically. Yesterday did not go as planned at all. Friends of ours got word that the doctors had pronounced there is nothing they can do, go home and set your affairs in order. Not the kind of result we were hoping for, for our friends, especially when my wife will be accompanying me as we wend our way to the specialist for a consult, as this blog is released.

While I was excited to learn the event I was anticipating was in fact a week later than I thought, there is still much that needs to happen this week. I am working at keeping my thoughts and words in a positive vein in the midst of much uncertainty. This is something you will want to consider when challenges come your way. Be thankful and grateful for what you can control and leave the rest with God. As the Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” He did not say give thanks for all things, but in all things. Look for the gold in any situation realizing it is the joy of the Lord which is your strength.
