Words have energetic power. This is true whether the words are printed or spoken. What most people do not know is that the vibrational frequency of each word affects physical matter. It is also true that words used in combination (phrases and sentences) also transmit specific vibrational frequencies. Proverbs 18:21 declares, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love its use will eat its fruit.” The words we choose to use, in whatever manner we select to express them on a daily basis are integrated in the universal principle of reaping what we sow (eating its fruit).

According to Dr. David Hawkins in the his book, Power vs. Force the level of our energetic consciousness will determine what the energetic quality and level of our communication will be. The quality and size of the words in our vocabulary list impacts our life in ways most people do not comprehend. If they did more effort might be made to focus on the transformation this could make in their life.

One of my mentors, Kevin Trudeau, in one of his trainings, suggests creating a personal dictionary. He provides a list of specific words to start with and then suggests you commit to adding words to the list on a regular, ongoing basis. Dr. Hawkins provides a list of energetically powerful adjectives and their weak alternatives in his book. You can learn much about yourself and others regarding their energetic consciousness by being aware of the specific words used. Dr. Hawkins writes, “Simply reading over this list, you are no longer the same person you were before. Merely to become acquainted with the differences between these polarities begins to increase one’s inner power.” It may take some time, but I have made the commitment to work through Dr. Hawkin’s list and add the words to my personal dictionary.

How teachable are you to this very significant tip being shared with you right now? You have in this moment, a tool which potentially can make a huge difference in your energetic awareness and consciousness, thus impacting the outcomes in your future.

Words matter! Use them wisely and with good intentions.

What do you fear? Most of the time we generate our own fear. We allow our imagination to work against us, allowing fear to enter into our thoughts, beliefs, words and intentions. When this happens it diminishes our confidence and faith and provides fuel for even more fear to establish itself in our life. In the majority of situations fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. Thinking back on your life what percentage of the bridges you feared to cross never even showed up in your life? Fear is a shadow, not substance.

When it shows up, recognize it, face it, and conquer it! Identify whether what you are experiencing is an actual physical threat to your life, or someone you love, and take appropriate action if it is. Recently there was a false threat of a nuclear attack upon Hawaii. The media reported there was wide spread fear and panic with people not knowing what to do. Think about it, if you are going to be close to the point of detonation of a nuclear bomb, does it really matter what you do. If you do not die with the detonation, what are your chances of surviving long term anyway? What good is fear going to do for you in that situation?

If your fear is the result of some form of phobia, recognize it for what it is and take steps to remedy it. What benefits or consequences are you receiving as a result of your fear? We read in Psalm 46:10-1, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. {11} Yahweh Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” The Hebrew word translated “be still” according to Strongs’s Greek & Hebrew Dictionary means to cease in the context of fighting. Fear often brings inner turmoil into our life. We need to let go of it and trust God for wisdom, guidance and help. Psalm 121:1-2 declares, I look up toward the hills. From where does my help come? {2} My help comes from Yahweh, the Creator of heaven and earth.” Solomon wrote in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. {6} Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight.”

What is God’s desire for us? “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you! Don’t be frightened, for I am your God! I strengthen you – yes, I help you – yes, I uphold you with my saving right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).

What does the brand called You look like? You may not have given very much, if any, thought to this question before, because you never considered yourself a marketer. The truth is everyone, including you, is a marketer everyday of your life. You are seeking to influence someone, about something, in some way, all the time. If you are a parent you are influencing your children to eat right, do their homework, make wise choices and the list goes on and on. If you work anywhere for anyone you are interacting with people and in a position of influence, even if you are on the bottom rung of the hierarchy ladder. How you respond to your responsibilities influences others positively or negatively. Those who work for themselves are still influencing their own life by what they think, believe, say and intend.

Dean Del Sesto in his book titled, Shift Your Thinking wrote, “Your personal brand is always speaking, and like all brands, it is subject to constant scrutiny and potential breakdown. Comprising your integrity, way of being, and, of course, your track record in day-to-day life, the way your personal brand resonates with others will profoundly impact your relationships, career opportunities, and life momentum.”

I would add, it also impacts how you present yourself in terms of your spiritual identity. The brand called you should not exist by default. You have a responsibility to create it by design to represent you in the best light possible. By the way, age is not an excuse for taking action on this. You are not too young, or too old to be demonstrating your brand in a way the provides a positive influence that empowers others. Remember, if you are someone who has said YES to the relationship with Jesus you are His ambassador to everyone you meet (2 Corinthians 5:20).

If you have not said YES to the relationship with Jesus, that still does not excuse you from all the obligations of building the brand that makes you the best you possible. There are many people in your life who are counting on you to demonstrate a level of honesty and integrity which will leave a positive legacy. You just might want to consider connecting to the One who has the ability to help you do just that.

Your brand is out there. It is in the workplace, in social media of all kinds, in your home. In fact it is everywhere you are. Why not chose to create that which will benefit you, your family, your friends, your acquaintances, and the world. Remember, You are continually sending out your energetic consciousness and You will receive back what you are transmitting. You reap what you sow. Choose wisely and by design because people are noticing your brand.

While waiting in the hotel lobby before my trip to the airport to fly home I visited the hotel gift shop. I picked up an interesting book titled, Shift Your Thinking by Dean Del Sesto. The subtitle of the book is, 200 Ways To Improve Your Life.

 

Dean starts the Introduction to the book with these words, “I’m sure you’ve noticed that life isn’t just moving fast today, it’s continually accelerating! Keeping pace and trajectory to make sure all areas of our life are healthy, growing, and moving in the right direction is difficult. Our goals are under constant attack with change, competition, busyness, and distraction. And yet, the total combined effect of all external noise is fractional compared to what takes place between our own two ears. Our perspectives determine how we feel, think, act and perform.”

These beginning words certainly resonated with me. I have been saying and writing for a long time now that “what we think, believe, say, and intend matter, because they impact our actions which determine the outcomes in our life.”

My challenge over the last number of years has been to find words to express what I know my purpose and destiny in life to be in a way which reflected the foundational core of my beliefs and their connection to truth. For me, truth is not relative, but is based upon universal, unchanging, absolutes that are always relevant. We may need different words to effectively communicate and allow these universal principles of truth to be understood at different times in history, but they are still valid.

My connection to truth is contained within the inspired Word of God, the Scriptures. I am fully aware of the challenges and confusion which can potentially arise when anything written is translated to a different language, or when cultural influences and understandings change over time. Our task is always to live from a place of integrity, to address these issues, as we seek to keep truth both accurate and relevant, isn’t it?

The 1984 edition of the NIV translation refers to 77 occurrences in the Four Gospels where Jesus used the phrase, “I tell you the truth.” Why was this repetitive action necessary? Did He have a challenge with lying? Was lying such a routine practice by the people in that time that it was important for Him to repeatedly reference His commitment to truth? Were people so accustomed to a line of thinking and a way of life they found it difficult to recognize truth when it was presented? Therefore Jesus felt the need to point out, “this is truth!” The Apostle John writes in John 8:31-32, “So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed Him, ‘If you dwell in My word, you really are My disciples. {32} You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’” The original word translated, “free” carries within it the idea of liberation. There is not time in this article to go into the depth of what this really means, but at a minimum, it includes the idea of deliverance from the constraints of that which is limiting and holding us back.

The importance of shifting our mindset to bring us into alignment with truth is something we should seriously consider.

I had a number of hours to fill before my flight home from Los Angeles would take place. The hotel lobby was a hub of activity and noise as families brought their children and young people to an event in the hope they might be selected as a model, or win an acting spot on a T.V. commercial, program, or maybe even a part in a movie, or on stage.

I finally found a quiet place to read and write and then a couple of managers in the industry discovered the same location. They brought a family in tow who were interested in getting their eleven year old daughter discovered and on the way to fame and fortune.

It was interesting to watch the process which took place as this young girl and her family were interviewed. This was in fact a call back meeting. The demands placed upon the child and the family were incredible. There willingness to respond to the command, “jump” with the words, “how high?” was very evident.

What I found interesting was how many people were vying for the very few opportunities available. These mangers told the family they were collecting a list of no more than fifteen candidates and out of the list no more than four, and potentially less, would be chosen to move forward with any chance of success. There was a list of sacrifices which would be expected should their daughter be chosen. In fairness to the managers, they did provide some very practical and helpful advice, not only the mom, but to the girl herself. They would need to follow through on specific suggestions if there was to be any hope she would be chosen by them.

It seemed the mother was willing to make whatever sacrifices, at any cost for this to happen, but when I heard the girl respond, “I will try” in a weak voice, I thought, so much for her chances of being selected. In that moment I immediately thought of the words of Yoda to Luke in the Star Wars movie. Yoda said, “Do or do not, there is no try.” Yoda was attempting to help Luke understand the concept of being fully committed to something. If he was not both fully certain and fully committed he could in fact do it, then he would not be able to.

In that moment I wondered, whose dream of stardom was being manifested. Was it the mother’s, or the young girl? As I wandered around that day I witnessed a significant number of mother’s putting their very young children (under 6 years old) through their routines, over and over.

This experience caused me to wonder if people really understand and know what their dreams and purpose in life really are? Do you? What is your level of commitment to them? Are you willing to continue to follow though even after the excitement and thrill of the initial moment is past?

Never allow anyone to steal you dreams and diminish your purpose. You make the choice and just do it.
